The Revelation Jury of the 51st Deauville Film Festival
To the Revelation Jury, we entrust the mission of awarding the prize of all possibilities and making a bet on the future. The Revelation Prize is a space of freedom where the future of the world and that of cinema is dreamt. At the Revelation, there’s no such thing as the best, only the values of youth, choice and discovery.
To meet this challenge, we’ve brought together four artists around actor, director and producer Jean-Pascal Zadi, who, after directing numerous music videos, TV series, films and documentaries, is making a splash on the young French cinema scene with his first feature film, Simply Black, in which he also stars, and for which he was awarded the César Award for Most Promising Actor in 2021. Michel Hazanavicius, Ludovic and Zoran Boukherma, Quentin Dupieux, Laetitia Dosch, Gilles Lellouche… all call on his acting talents. But his all-round creativity takes him from television, with his series Represent, to cinema, with his latest African-futuristic production, Le Grand Déplacement.
At her side is the actress Suzy Bemba, discovered in the series L’Opéra, where she played a young dancer alongside Ariane Labed. But it was her roles in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things and Anthony Chen’s Drift that propelled her onto the international scene in 2023. The following year, she was one of the César Academy’s Revelations and represented France at the Shooting Stars in Berlin. She will soon be seen in Cliffhanger, the reboot of the eponymous American thriller directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and filmed in the Alps.
Julien Colonna, filmmaker, screenwriter and photographer, who, after having cut his teeth in short films and screenwriting, established himself as a leading director with his first feature film, The Kingdom, selected at the Festival de Cannes in 2024, and shot entirely in Corsica with mostly non-professional actors. Julien Colonna is currently working on several projects between France and the United States.
They’ll be joined by Bilal Hassani, singer-songwriter, actor, choreographer and producer, symbol of a new generation that holds high the values of tolerance, acceptance, self-love and respect for all. In 2019, after representing France at Eurovision with his song “Roi”, he released his debut album, “Kingdom”, and won the NRJ Music Award for Francophone Revelation of the Year. In 2020, his video clip for the single “Fais le vide” won the MTV France Music Video of the Year. He made his film debut in 2024 in the feature film Queens of Drama directed by Alexis Langlois. In early 2026, he will star in Laurent Micheli’s Nino dans la nuit.
Last but not least, Anaïde Rozam, another young artist of her time, revealed on Instagram thanks to her quirky video pastilles, was seen in Jacques Audiard’s Paris, 13th District, then noticed in the “Culte”, “Iris” and “Trash” series. She sings, acts and imposes her unique energy in every register, whether as the heroine of Thomas Ngijol’s short format Pour 1 euro, j’écoute vos problèmes, in Carine May and Hakim Zouhani’s La Cour des miracles or in Martin Jauvat’s latest film Baise-en-Ville, presented at this year’s Festival de Cannes.
The five members of the Revelation Jury will award the Revelation Prize at the closing ceremony on September 13. The selection of films in Competition will be announced in August.
