After training at the Cours Florent, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu made her feature film debut in Roger Vadim’s Surprise Party (1983). Two years later, she became widely known for Coline Serreau’s comedy Three Men and a Cradle, a role which earned her a Most Promising Actress César nomination. She rejoined the director for The Green Planet (1996), as well as for the cult film’s sequel, 18 Years Later (2003). Throughout her career, she has worked with renowned filmmakers: Andrzej Wajda (The Possessed, 1987), Philippe Le Guay (Les deux Fragonards, 1989; L’Année Juliette, 1995), Philippe de Broca (The Keys to Paradise, 1991), Jean-Jacques Annaud (Two Brothers, 2004), Tran Anh Hung (Eternity, 2016) and Jean-Paul Rouve (Lola & Her Brothers, 2018). She has also collaborated multiple times with American filmmakers, including Richard T. Heffron (The French Revolution, 1989), James Ivory (Jefferson in Paris, 1995) and Alex Keshishian (Love and Other Disasters, 2005). From 2015 to 2018, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu played Catherine Barneville in the series Call My Agent! broadcast on France 2. In 2020, she performed in Gabriel Le Bomin’s biopic De Gaulle, before becoming Sylvie Grateau in the Netflix series Emily in Paris, a role which she continues to play. In 2022, she continued her international trajectory by joining the cast of the series The Crown, also on Netflix. This year, she plays Sarah Bernhardt in Cédric Klapisch’s Colours of Time.
