Vincent Macaigne joined the Paris National Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1999. In parallel with his acting career, he devoted himself to writing and directing, creating several shows performed on the main stages of France. In cinema, he has worked with the boldest filmmakers of his generation: Bertrand Bonello, Guillaume Brac, Justine Triet, Antonin Peretjatko, Anne Fontaine and Dominik Moll. A director himself, he made his debut feature film, Comfort and Consolation in France, in 2017. He was nominated in 2022 for the Best Actor César for his lived-in performance in Élie Wajeman’s Night Doctor, then nominated again the following year for the Best Supporting Actor César for Emmanuel Mouret’s Love Affair(s). Recently, Vincent Macaigne stood out in Olivier Assayas’ Suspended Time, Emmanuel Mouret’s Three Friends, Pablo Larraín’s Maria and Cédric Klapisch’s Colours of Time. He will next appear in Marie-Hélène Roux’s Muganga, Abd Al Malik’s L’Affaire de l’esclave Furcy, Sophie Beaulieu’s The Doll and Kirill Serebrennikov’s Après.
