About

Vin­cent Macaigne joined the Paris Nation­al Acad­e­my of Dra­mat­ic Arts in 1999. In par­al­lel with his act­ing career, he devot­ed him­self to writ­ing and direct­ing, cre­at­ing sev­er­al shows per­formed on the main stages of France. In cin­e­ma, he has worked with the bold­est film­mak­ers of his gen­er­a­tion: Bertrand Bonel­lo, Guil­laume Brac, Jus­tine Tri­et, Antonin Peret­jatko, Anne Fontaine and Dominik Moll. A direc­tor him­self, he made his debut fea­ture film, Com­fort and Con­so­la­tion in France, in 2017. He was nom­i­nat­ed in 2022 for the Best Actor César for his lived-in per­for­mance in Élie Wajeman’s Night Doc­tor, then nom­i­nat­ed again the fol­low­ing year for the Best Sup­port­ing Actor César for Emmanuel Mouret’s Love Affair(s). Recent­ly, Vin­cent Macaigne stood out in Olivi­er Assayas’ Sus­pend­ed Time, Emmanuel Mouret’s Three Friends, Pablo Larraín’s Maria and Cédric Klapisch’s Colours of Time. He will next appear in Marie-Hélène Roux’s Mugan­ga, Abd Al Malik’s L’Affaire de l’esclave Fur­cy, Sophie Beaulieu’s The Doll and Kir­ill Serebrennikov’s Après.
