American director and screenwriter Lisa Cholodenko directed her first feature, High Art, in 1998. Presented in the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, the film won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the Sundance Film Festival as well as the Jury Prize at the Deauville American Film Festival. Her work in both film and television has since received recognition at the Berlin Film Festival, the Golden Globe Awards, the Independent Spirit Awards and the Emmy Awards. She is currently writing a US adaptation of Maren Ade’s German film Tony Erdmann she will also direct.
