Pete Muller

Pete Muller is based between New York City and Machias, Maine. From 2005 to 2020, he was based in the Mid­dle East and Africa, doc­u­ment­ing con­flict in post-colo­nial soci­eties. In 2022, he won the Emmy Award for Out­stand­ing Doc­u­men­tary for his work as co-pro­duc­er of The First Wave direct­ed by Matthew Heine­man. Also a pho­tog­ra­ph­er, his works have been exhib­it­ed in Lon­don, New York, Gene­va, Cape Town and else­where. His work in pho­tog­ra­phy, film and oth­er media explores themes of mas­culin­i­ty, con­flict and human ecol­o­gy. Bucks Har­bor is his direc­to­r­i­al debut.
