Day 2 — Brendan Fraser, Ethan Hawke and Sophie Thatcher in the Spotlight in Deauville

On its sec­ond day, the 52^nd Deauville Amer­i­can Film Fes­ti­val brought togeth­er sev­er­al gen­er­a­tions of Amer­i­can cin­e­ma. From trib­utes on the Prom­e­nade des Planch­es to the red car­pet and award cer­e­monies, Bren­dan Fras­er, Ethan Hawke and Sophie Thatch­er were among the high­lights of anoth­er mem­o­rable day at the Festival.

Brendan Fraser and Ethan Hawke Leave Their Mark on the Promenade des Planches

Near­ly thir­ty years after attend­ing the Deauville Fes­ti­val in 1997, Bren­dan Fras­er returned to the Prom­e­nade des Planch­es for the 52^nd edi­tion. The Amer­i­can actor inau­gu­rat­ed the beach cab­in that now bears his name, con­tin­u­ing one of Deauville’s most icon­ic traditions.

Bren­dan Fras­er also received a Deauville Tal­ent Award, with this year’s tro­phy being an orig­i­nal cre­ation by Daum.

The Prom­e­nade des Planch­es host­ed anoth­er beach cab­in inau­gu­ra­tion with Ethan Hawke. Thir­ty-five years after his first appear­ance at the Fes­ti­val, the actor was also back in Deauville to inau­gu­rate the beach cab­in bear­ing his name.

Ethan Hawke had received a Deauville Tal­ent Award the pre­vi­ous evening, dur­ing the Open­ing Cer­e­mo­ny of the 52^nd edition.

Two gen­er­a­tions, two remark­able careers, and now two new names join­ing the artists cel­e­brat­ed along Deauville’s leg­endary Prom­e­nade des Planches.

Sophie Thatcher, Hollywood Rising Star

A new gen­er­a­tion of Hol­ly­wood tal­ent was also in the spot­light, with Sophie Thatch­er receiv­ing the Hol­ly­wood Ris­ing Star Award.

The actress made her mark on the red car­pet on Day 2 before receiv­ing the award. She is also in Deauville for HER PRIVATE HELL, direct­ed by Nico­las Wind­ing Refn and pre­sent­ed as a pre­miere at the 52^nd Festival.
