Ira Sachs

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Ira Sachs began his career in New York in the 1990s with several short films before directing his first feature, The Delta, in 1996. He gained international recognition in 2005 with Forty Shades of Blue, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and was selected in Competition at the Deauville American Film Festival. In 2016, Little Men won the Grand Prize at Deauville. The Man I Love, his tenth feature film, was presented in competition at the last Cannes Film Festival.
