Mike Mendez made his fea­ture debut at the age of twen­ty-three with Killers, which pre­miered at the Sun­dance Film Fes­ti­val in 1996. He went on to build a career in genre film­mak­ing. He also col­lab­o­rat­ed with Mike Judge on Beav­is & Butt-Head. Dern­sie: The Amaz­ing Life of Bruce Dern is his first doc­u­men­tary feature.
