Yorgos Lanthimos

Born in Greece, Yor­gos Lan­thi­mos began his career direct­ing com­mer­cials, music videos, short films, and stage plays. An accom­plished pho­tog­ra­ph­er, he has pro­duced numer­ous pho­to­graph­ic series and cam­paigns for fash­ion brands, and has pub­lished two pho­tog­ra­phy books. His crit­i­cal­ly acclaimed fil­mog­ra­phy has earned him five Acad­e­my Award nom­i­na­tions and such pres­ti­gious hon­ors as a BAFTA, a Gold­en Globe, the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Fes­ti­val, and the Gold­en Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
