1919. While his father takes part in the nego­ti­a­tions for the Treaty of Ver­sailles, young Prescott grows up in the midst of the diplo­mat­ic cir­cles shap­ing the new world order. In the pri­va­cy of the fam­i­ly home, his behav­ior becomes more trou­bling by the day, as his moth­er looks on help­less­ly. His child­hood may well fore­shad­ow an extra­or­di­nary destiny.
