Kitty Green

Born in 1984 in Mel­bourne, she stud­ied film and tele­vi­sion at the Vic­to­ri­an Col­lege of Arts. Her first doc­u­men­tary film Ukraine Is Not a Broth­el, about the activ­i­ties of the Ukrain­ian fem­i­nist move­ment Femen, pre­miered at the Venice Film Fes­ti­val in 2013 and won an AACTA award for Best Aus­tralian Fea­ture Length Doc­u­men­tary. After hear­ing about the Wein­stein scan­dal, she researched on the top­ic of sex­ism in the work­place to make The Assis­tant, her fic­tion fea­ture debut.
